We had the chance to dine at The Ranch House recently. I would have to say that it was hearty in terms of portions and the service was good, but the food was really pretty boring. The much-raved about roast pork with gravy was bland though I have to say that the barbecue sauce they use for the ribs was very good - well balanced and a good complement to the meat.

Other recent dining out experiences include a stop by town for breakfast and I cannot say enough about the amazing breakfast dish which features a lightly fried slab of polenta (still creamy in the center) topped with diced proscuitto, sauteed greens with raisins and pine nuts finished with the crowning glory of a sunny-side up egg. Highly recommended.

Goran Streng's Tango gets a nod from visiting friends who dined there for breakfast, lunch and dinner in a single day. (They were staying down the street at Nauru Towers and it was in easy walking distance.) They reported excellent food and service at every meal and the family-friendly attitude of the entire crew made for a very pleasant atmosphere.
